报告人简介:中山大学附属第一医院研究员、博士生导师,国家高层次青年人才项目获得者、中山大学“百人计划”中青年杰出人才。于都柏林圣三一大学获得博士学位,曾在剑桥大学医学院接受博士后训练并留任课题组长。研究聚焦于利用人群队列与多组学数据,结合人工智能与统计学习方法,探索复杂疾病的生物学机制并开展精准风险预测与干预。代表性成果发表于NatureCell Genomics等。

报告摘要Advancements in high-throughput technologies now enable the simultaneous measurement and analysis of many thousands of biomolecules across multiple omics layers, e.g. transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, through a small tissue biopsy, or even a few millilitres of blood. These unprecedented breadth and depth of data generated have significantly deepened our insights into the molecular complexities underlying biological systems and diseases. However, these technologies also come with challenges, from sample collection to molecular measurement, making the process complex, time-consuming, and costly, thus often cannot be applied at scale. To address this challenge, we develop genetic scores to predict multi-omic traits by leveraging machine learning approaches and data from the multi-omic cohorts. The genetically predicted multi-omic data in large population biobanks can then be used to identify therapeutic targets and elucidate molecular mechanisms for complex traits and diseases.
